This morning we left our Bungalow on coconut beach in pouring rain with one bike and two people plus two big backpacks! Down to the harbor here we left our bags at the pier office and went to post Christmas gifts for my family and return the moped. After this we went last minute shopping there. Got our bags and headed down the pier!
We luckily escaped koh pangan without a koh panggan tattoo. You get a koh pangan tattoo if you fall off your bike and get big skid marks up your legs and arms, not attractive! Its more likely to happen if you are on alcohol, drugs, or speed rush. Although the travelers guide honored the islands hospital for it's good treatment of motorcycle accidents, we didn't try out that one.
The catamaran went to ko samui then straight to suratani pier! Here we took the bus to surat thani train station!
On the way to the trainstaion we found Manfred's dream job to build spirit houses! Spirit houses are little houses outside of homes, that are usually better taken care of, that have the spirits of ancestors and other spirits. They not only get a house but also offerings of food and sweets, in order to keep the spirits happy and protect the home.
