Melbourne

Hi ya'll so it has been a while sinced I lasted blogged! We were in melbourne the city of four seasons! This means bring a jacket where ever you go what ever the tempature is! In truth I liked the other city's of austrailia much better than Melbourne. But it did have a few highlights! We got to the YHA, if you doing a trip like this become a member it pays for itself!!

Anyway we went to the hostel and found the if you were in Melbourne then you had to visit Phillip island to see the penguins! But a little secret if you want to get up and personal with wild penguins and you don't want to spend alot of money, and spend an entire day out under the sun, then you don't have to go far from Melbourne! St. Kilda is the beautiful coastal town, 20 mins with the number 96 tram, outside of Melbourne. There they have the oldest rollercoaster in the world at the Luna park, cute little shops and restaurants as well. But to my big surprise they also have a penguin colony with 1000  penguins just behind the kiosk on the St.kilda pier is there colony located! The "little divers" took the protected rocks of the harbor as there breeding ground! So not only do you see penguins you can meet their little chicks! The best thing is to enjoy the sunset on the pier then watch as the parents come to share to feed their chicks and see the chicks struggling o be the first to their parents for food! Other then the penguins, luna park and shopping Melbourne was not was exciting as the rest. Plus it was cold!

So on the 18th it was on the way to the airport and on to New Zeland! So good bye Austraila it was a blast and amazing I hope I will return! Next blog from NZ thanks for reading! Hugs Mia
